L\u2019\u00e9lection du Maroc \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence du bureau ex\u00e9cutif de UN-GGIM: Africa<\/strong> marque une \u00e9tape historique pour la gouvernance des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9ospatiales sur le continent. Cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, survenu \u00e0 la suite d\u2019AfricaGIS 2025 et de la 11i\u00e8me r\u00e9union de UN-GGIM: Africa \u00e0 Accra, traduit une reconnaissance internationale du r\u00f4le du Maroc dans la consolidation institutionnelle et la souverainet\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reconnaissance continentale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le Maroc a su d\u00e9montrer, \u00e0 travers les initiatives de l’ANCFCC, l’ONIGT et les rapports du Haut Commissariat au Plan (HCP), sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 territorialiser les ODD, \u00e0 diagnostiquer les limites statistiques, et \u00e0 int\u00e9grer les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9ospatiales et statistiques dans une logique continentale. Cette \u00e9lection vient consacrer ces efforts et leur donner une port\u00e9e institutionnelle africaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En acc\u00e9dant \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence du bureau ex\u00e9cutif, le Maroc devient un acteur pivot<\/strong> entre initiatives locales et continentales. Il peut d\u00e9sormais impulser une dynamique de standardisation, d\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et de transparence des donn\u00e9es g\u00e9ospatiales, tout en renfor\u00e7ant la voix africaine dans les instances mondiales de gouvernance des donn\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tant aussi membre de UN-GGIM: AS, le Maroc peut aussi impulser les synergies entre les comit\u00e9s r\u00e9gionaux africain et arabe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette pr\u00e9sidence ouvre la voie \u00e0 une gouvernance africaine fond\u00e9e sur la donn\u00e9e, condition essentielle pour atteindre les ODD et r\u00e9aliser l\u2019Agenda 2063. Elle permet \u00e9galement de consolider la souverainet\u00e9 africaine des donn\u00e9es, en garantissant que les d\u00e9cisions politiques et \u00e9conomiques reposent sur des informations fiables et produites par les institutions africaines elles m\u00eames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsabilit\u00e9 et reddition des comptes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Du plaidoyer \u00e0 l\u2019action institutionnelle, le Maroc incarne d\u00e9sormais une gouvernance africaine des donn\u00e9es souveraines. Cette pr\u00e9sidence est une opportunit\u00e9 pour renforcer la coop\u00e9ration continentale et inscrire durablement l\u2019Afrique dans l\u2019architecture mondiale de la gouvernance g\u00e9ospatiale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00e9lection du Maroc \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence du bureau ex\u00e9cutif de UN-GGIM: Africa ne constitue pas une rupture, mais bien une poursuite et amplification<\/strong> des efforts d\u00e9j\u00e0 engag\u00e9s par le bureau sortant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les initiatives d\u00e9j\u00e0 engag\u00e9es ont en effet permis de consolider la voix africaine, d\u2019affirmer la souverainet\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es et de renforcer la coop\u00e9ration r\u00e9gionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La pr\u00e9sidence marocaine appara\u00eet ainsi comme une reconnaissance des acquis<\/strong> et une volont\u00e9 de prolonger cette dynamique. Elle ouvre une nouvelle phase o\u00f9 la souverainet\u00e9 africaine des donn\u00e9es devient un pilier strat\u00e9gique pour atteindre les ODD et r\u00e9aliser l\u2019Agenda 2063.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette \u00e9lection implique aussi pour le repr\u00e9sentant du Maroc de se conformer au principe de responsabilit\u00e9 et reddition des comptes, que sa majest\u00e9 le roi Mohammed VI a \u00e9rig\u00e9 en un des piliers de la bonne gouvernance du pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morocco\u2019s election as chair of the UN-GGIM: Africa Executive Bureau<\/strong> marks a historic milestone in geospatial data governance across the continent. This achievement, following AfricaGIS 2025 and the 11th UN-GGIM: Africa meeting in Accra, reflects international recognition of Morocco\u2019s role in institutional consolidation and data sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continental recognition<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Through the initiatives of ANCFCC, ONIGT and reports of the Haut Commissariat au Plan (HCP), Morocco has demonstrated its ability to territorialize SDGs, diagnose statistical limitations, and integrate geospatial and statistical data within a continental framework. This election institutionalizes these efforts at the African level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Institutional leadership<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By assuming the presidency of the Executive Bureau, Morocco becomes a key actor<\/strong> bridging local and continental initiatives. Responsibility and accountability<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Morocco’s election to the presidency of the UN-GGIM: Africa Executive Board does not represent a break with the past, but rather a continuation and expansion of the efforts already undertaken by the outgoing board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These initiatives have indeed helped to consolidate the African voice, assert data sovereignty, and strengthen regional cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
